  • High cost performance and convenient transportation. Free promotion to the executive room. Toiletries, towels, bathrobes and bedding are all good, but the pillow is uncomfortable. The two are too short together. The cleanliness of the room is acceptable. The cup has watermark. There are many power supplies in the room. It would be better to have a USB port. The most rare thing is that parking is free, and five-star hotels in Beijing are rare.

  • It's still so good to stay in this hotel again. The front desk upgraded us for free. The hotel is well located, just above the subway car Gongzhuang. Take the subway when you go out, which is convenient and fast.

  • Maybe the house price in Beijing is expensive. The price performance price ratio is the lowest in the country, and it feels like the five-star is still old

  • It's very close to the financial street. It's convenient for the meeting. The suite is very large, spacious and comfortable, with master bathroom and guest bathroom. Unfortunately, I have no luck to enjoy it all night. It's great that the bath products are all made of o'shudan. Breakfast is OK, Western food is more, and the dishes can be more abundant.

  • Can you believe that the plug of the network cable is leaking? I trembled when I met him. I feel that this hotel is very old. Many facilities reflect the sense of the times, and the door is so small. It doesn't have the atmosphere that a 5-star hotel should have

Travelogue

  • How enjoyable is the 'freedom of travel' in the core area of the Second Ring Road

Before coming to Beijing to play, I made a strategy and deliberately avoided the crowded Wangfujing commercial district, choosing the Grand Metropark Yuantong Hotel Beijing on the West Second Ring Road. I originally only placed an order for its five-star configuration, but after staying for three days, I realized that the most unique feature of this hotel is not the rooms, but its tightly controlled geographical location - you can easily connect Beijing's fireworks and scenic spots when you go out, saving even the anxiety of not being able to wait for a taxi.
The hotel is located on Ping'anli West Street, just a three minute walk from the transfer station of Metro Line 2 and Line 6, without the need for detours or long underground passages. On my first day, I went to Gulou to stroll along the cigarette bag diagonal street. I took Line 6 for two stops directly, and the whole journey took only 10 minutes without being stuck on the ground. Later, I went to Sanlitun to schedule a meal with friends. It only took 20 minutes to transfer from Line 2 to Line 10, which was twice as fast as taking a taxi. Even the road congestion during rush hour was perfectly avoided.
Even more surprising is its' walkable circle '. Turning around from the hotel is the Mei Lanfang Grand Theater. I bought a ticket for the Beijing Opera that night and walked slowly back to the hotel after the show ended, saving me even the trouble of taking a taxi. Walk west for 15 minutes to reach Shichahai. In the evening, take a walk along the lake, and the wind carries the scent of locust flowers from old Beijing. There is also an old man selling homemade sour plum soup on the roadside. Walk east for 20 minutes and stroll directly to the northwest corner tower of the Forbidden City. You don't have to squeeze into the crowd at the Meridian Gate to find a parking spot. The morning sunlight falls diagonally on the red wall, and the photos taken casually don't need to be edited.
The smoke and fire around cannot be hidden. There is an old Beijing style hotpot restaurant that has been in operation for over a decade, located 50 meters downstairs from the hotel. The heat from the copper pot can be smelled across half a street. When you get tired from strolling around at night, you don't have to take a taxi to find delicious food. You can simply enjoy a meal downstairs. Walking south for 10 minutes is the commercial district of Financial Street, where you can easily stroll through shopping malls and buy souvenirs in one stop. There are even three 24-hour convenience stores, and if you want to eat an ice cream in the middle of the night, just take a few steps downstairs.
The convenience of transportation even extends to long-distance travel. On the day I left, I went to the Capital Airport and took the airport expressway directly from the hotel on the second ring road. The whole journey was 25 kilometers without much detours, and I arrived at the terminal in 40 minutes without encountering the expected traffic jam. Previously, going to Beijing West Station was even more outrageous. It took only 10 minutes to arrive after a 5-kilometer journey, so there was no need to panic and leave two hours early to catch the early high-speed train.
Previously, when I came to Beijing, I was afraid of staying too far away and wasting most of my time on the way. However, this time I stayed at Grand Metropark Yuantong Hotel Beijing and realized that choosing the right place to stay can slow down the pace of the entire trip. Don't waste time on the road, don't wake up two hours early to catch up with scenic spots. You can easily enter the old alleyway and touch the shadow of the red wall when you turn a corner. This is the most comfortable way to live in Beijing.Show more

  • I stayed in Beijing's Second Ring Road for three days, and this old-fashioned hotel exuded the most down-to-earth atmosphere of fireworks

This time I came to Beijing for some personal matters and deliberately avoided the new hotel crowded with internet celebrities, choosing the Grand Metropark Yuantong Hotel Beijing in Xicheng District. I thought I was just looking for a place to stay close to the subway station, but after three days of staying, I found a rare and suitable place in the bustling city of Second Ring Road.
After walking for five minutes from Subway Line 2, I arrived at the hotel entrance. The doorman saw me dragging my suitcase and greeted me across the street. When he picked up my luggage, he reminded me that it's been windy in Beijing lately, so remember to take off your scarf and shake off the dust before entering. As soon as I walked into the lobby, I was enveloped in a warm and cozy atmosphere, without an overly luxurious cold and hard feeling. The vintage crystal lights fell on the beige marble floor, and several pots of gentleman orchids in the corner were lit up perfectly, like walking into an old friend's elegantly decorated home. The elder sister at the reception desk who checked in speaks authentic Beijing dialect and smiled and handed me the room card: "I have arranged a room away from the road for you, so you can sleep at night. The Roasted chestnuts in sugar-coated heated sand in the alley downstairs have just been cooked, and you can buy them when you turn outside."
Pushing open the door, I realized that this thoughtfulness goes far beyond just words. Double layered soundproof glass was installed near the windows of the residential area, blocking all traffic on the second ring road. The layout of the room is a conservative old-fashioned five-star hotel, without fancy internet celebrity decorations. The beige bedding is just fluffy, and the desk lamp at the desk has soft light. Organizing materials at night will not shake the eyes at all. The most surprising thing is the small cabinet by the window, which not only contains regular tea bags, but also holds a can of authentic Beijing jasmine tea. When boiling water, the room is filled with a refreshing fragrance.
Breakfast is the most visible part of the hotel's heritage. The hot air of freshly ground soybean milk floats in the restaurant. The freshly fried deep-fried dough sticks are crisp outside and tender inside. The bittern of bean curd jelly served with sauce is boiled thick, sprinkled with a small spoonful of leek flowers, and the taste of old Beijing is authentic. I got up late two days in a row. At 9:30, the steamed steamed bun was still steaming. When the aunt who made up the meal saw me, she gave me an extra sesame paste Shaobing (Baked cake in griddle) that had just been baked and said, "Girl, you have a taste. This is the specialty of our old chef".
In the evening after finishing my work, I took a walk back along the alley next to the hotel. The cleaning lady had quietly tidied up the room and placed a small dish of freshly washed hawthorn fruits at the bedside. On the day I left, I rushed to catch the early flight. The front desk helped me pack a hot breakfast bag in advance, and the doorman helped me carry my luggage onto the car. They also specifically pointed me to a shortcut to avoid the morning rush hour.
I used to think that hotels in Beijing were either too noisy or too distant, but this time at Grand Metropark Yuantong Hotel Beijing, I realized that good accommodation is never just about piling up expensive decorations, but about leaving a solid and warm place to stay in the smoke and fire of the Second Ring Road. Next time I come to Beijing, I will definitely stay here again.Show more
